breathtaking narrow-gauge railway journey across the ‘Centovalli’
(hundred valleys) to Domodossola, and return to Arona by normal

wonderful in early spring in Villa Taranto and Villa Pallavicini
— Milan is an easy day trip by train (1 hr) or by car (40 mins then park
and take the underground). See the Cathedral, the Scala Opera
house, the Sforzesco Castle with its museums and art galleries, or
go shopping in exclusive Via Montenapoleone

and the charming (free) open-air Transport Museum in Ranco
— “Pombia Safari Park” – part Safari-Park plus reptilarium, part
amusement park with a few roundabouts and giant slides, as well
as shows (falconry etc), just 5 minutes’ drive from Cesarina.

Gourmet

Piedmont is a gourmet’s heaven. Gorgonzola cheese is produced in Novara and there are also many local cheeses produced in the mountain valleys. There are wine routes through the territory where DOC and DOCG red wines such as Gattinara, Ghemme and Sizzano are made. We can point visitors towards an organic ‘agriturismo’ where they can enjoy lunch and buy house specialty organic red, rosé and white wines. The lower part of Novara province is traditionally rice-growing and you can enjoy bicycle trips through the area, or in the Parco del Ticino.
